Meet Aoife Dunne, viral sketch creator, writer, storyteller and now one of the fastest rising comedians in Ireland - in less than a year of comedy, she’s gone from headlining the Dead Rabbit in NYC, to opening for Katie Boyle on tour in the US, and in Ireland for the likes of Emma Doran, Danny O Brien, and Natalie Aukar. Fresh off performing at the biggest festivals in Ireland this summer (Electric Picnic and the Paddy Power Comedy festival), Aoife is currently living in Amsterdam to work on her debut solo show which will be premiering at the Barcelona Fringe Festival.
Don’t miss Aoife Dunne’s Fringe debut, where storytelling and comedy collide in a wild ride through grief and life’s absurdity!
Aoife Dunne’s one-woman solo show is a heartfelt and humorous exploration of grief, identity, and connection. Following the loss of her mother at 23, Aoife, now 37 (but 27 on the inside) reflects on the highs and lows of navigating loss while also reclaiming her sense of self as a recovering repressed Catholic. Drawing from her storytelling background, honed at the prestigious Mezrab school in Amsterdam, and her comedic flair as a rising star in Dublin’s vibrant comedy scene, Aoife mixes humour, absurdity, and vulnerability. Her interactive performance takes audiences on a wild heartwarming (and somewhat raunchy) journey through grief, the unexpected gifts it brings, and the challenges of shaking off old beliefs to embrace a new path forward.
